Alex Honnold, Sacramento Native, on Top of Free, Solo Climbing World:

Ever since he could remember, Alex has been climbing, ascending. That may have started when aided by his mother's finger, he climbed out of his crib. When he took his blanket and headed out of the house to explore the great outdoors, he knew he was up to something. His parents knew it too. That is why they took him to a climbing school where he developed his skills at an early age. But nobody knew that he was going to go free solo style on some of the major climbing challenges in the world. As they say, after devoting many years to the laid-back sport, the rest is history.

Alex Honnold has become popular with the fans of rockclimbing all over the world. He is making a living in the sport. He is flown all over the world with all expenses paid trips.

Clothing companies are clamoring to sponsor him. So far, the North Face is one among them. Alex has climbed Rostrum and Astroman at Yosemite National park and the famous Moonlight Buttress at Zion National park.
